FoodFriend

Logging nutrition is as easy as telling a friend what you ate.

Say “I just had…” and finish the sentence. FoodFriend works out the calories, protein, carbs and fat, and keeps your day adding up. No searching, no scanning, no tapping through a database.

$9 a month after your free month. No card to start. Cancel by just saying so.

I just had two scrambled eggs and a slice of whole wheat toast with butter

How it works

Three steps, and the third one is just looking.

1

Open it where you are

Use it in Telegram, or right here in the web app. Your account and your log are the same in both.

2

Say what you ate

Type it the way you'd text a friend: “a big bowl of oatmeal with blueberries”, “half a burrito from Costa Vida”. Snap a plate or a nutrition label if that's easier.

3

See your day

Every reply shows what it logged and your running total. Your page has today, your week and a month calendar.

Why not just use a free app?

You can. Most people stop because logging is a chore. This one is built so it isn't.

A typical calorie app

  • Search a database for every item
  • Pick the right entry out of dozens
  • Scan barcodes, adjust serving sizes
  • Tap through screens for each meal
  • The premium tier costs more than FoodFriend

FoodFriend

  • Say the whole meal in one sentence
  • It picks the foods and the portions, and shows you what it chose
  • Wrong? Say “that was a small one” and it fixes it
  • Ask “how's my week?” and get a straight answer
  • $9 a month, first month free

What it keeps track of

Just say it. It knows what you mean.

Calories and macrosProtein, carbs and fat, meal by meal, with a daily total. “I just had a turkey sandwich.”
WaterIts own tally, never mixed into your food. “Drank a 20 oz bottle.”
WeightOne number when you weigh in, so your trend means something. “Weighed 182 this morning.”
QuestionsYour own numbers, answered plainly. “How's my week?” “How much protein today?”
Your regularsSave a meal once, log it in two words next time. “My usual breakfast.”
Goals and remindersSet a daily target, and choose an evening check-in or a nudge when you've gone quiet. “Set my protein goal to 150.” “Only remind me at night.”

FoodFriend is for everyday, casual tracking. It's not a medical tool. The numbers are estimates, from the USDA food database, a large brand and restaurant food database, nutrition labels, and sometimes a best guess when nothing matches (those are marked). If you need to hit a precise calorie target for a medical reason, work with a doctor or dietitian instead.

One plan. Simple.

$9 / month
  • First month free, and no card to start
  • Cancel any time by saying so in the chat
  • Not happy with a charge? Email within 30 days and get that month back
  • $2 a month off for every friend you refer who's paying that month

How billing works

Sign up with just an email and password. Your free month starts that day. Before it ends we ask for a card. If you add one, it is charged $9 automatically each month until you cancel. If you don't, logging simply pauses. Cancelling stops the next charge, and we never charge you after you cancel.

Questions

Do I need Telegram?

No. You can use FoodFriend entirely in the web app on your phone or computer. Telegram is there if you like chatting in an app you already have.

How accurate is it?

Close enough for everyday tracking. It uses the USDA food database, a large brand and restaurant database and nutrition labels, shows you exactly what it matched, and marks anything it had to estimate. If something's off, just tell it and it corrects the entry.

What if it gets a food wrong?

Say so in plain words, like “that was a small apple” or “take off the butter”, and it fixes that entry. “Undo” removes the last thing you logged.

Can I log restaurant food?

Yes. Name the place and what you ordered, like “a Chick-fil-A 8 count nuggets”. If a chain's menu is in the database it uses that; otherwise it builds the meal from its parts.

Do I need a card to try it?

No. Your first month is free and sign-up takes only an email and a password. We ask for a card before the free month ends.

How do I cancel?

Tell it “cancel” in the chat, or email support@ijusthad.com. Either one stops the next charge. Your log stays readable through the time you've already paid for.

Is my data private?

Your log is yours. It is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used to train anything. The Privacy page has the details.

Who can use it?

Anyone 18 or over in the United States.
